What is anorexia?
Anorexia is a eating disorder that usually occurs in young females. The problem lies within the thought process, where the individual sees themselves as being overweight. Even if they are so malnourished that they are to the point to death they continually hold in their mind that they are overweight.
We look at someone and wonder how this can be, but this same process happens in our minds in other ways too. Many people suffer from a poor self-esteem. They may be totally capable of performing as a much higher level than they are, but believe they cannot do so.
Healing the anorexic mind
To be healed from anorexia the individual must be healed, first, in their mind. That’s what makes this so tough. If the person cannot see that they are ok the way they are it is very difficult to get them to seek help.
It is tough just trying to change your eating habits. I know it has to be tough for anyone suffering from this debilitating disorder.
Eating the proper anorexia diet
If you search for a proper diet you will find many conflicting responses. Most do not reach the problem. It is important to get as much nutrition into the person as possible. Use the highest quality foods and, if possible, try to get them to take a multivitamin with minerals.
